I got a new baggy jumper and I couldn't wait to wear it. I also got given a magazine on my way home which was a nice surprise seeing at stylist has dissapeared from my tube station, I don't know if it was a promotion or going to be a regular thing but it brightened up my soggy commute hope. Lovely!

Notting Hill Carnival

I went to the Notting Hill Carnival yesterday with some friends from Cardiff yesterday. I had a brilliant time, I forgot to take lots of pictures (sorry) but I did remember to take two.

Tate Britain

So I went to the Tate Britain today, I went to see Another London. I thought it was brilliant! I also spent hours looking for the paralympic prints, eventually after asking I found out that they were being displayed between the gift shop and cloak room.... very annoying! I find the layout of the Tate Britain very annoying, I always struggle to find the exhibition I'm looking for. BUT I eventually found everything in the end.
I've got some of the postcards from the 'Another London' to share with you now, and I'll share the poster I got from the paralympic prints when I get a frame for it. This is because I don't want to ruin it by taking it out of its roll, anyone know where I can get a black frame for a poster for a reasonable price?
On a sad note, Vis has gone to Kosovo for a week to shoot his dissertation documentary, but the good news is that I can have a Harry Potter film marathon as he's not here to complain :D

Just made these flapjacks, made them in cupcake cases so they are already portioned for the rest of the week. ohhh and they are pineapple and walnut flavour :D

Salmon parcels

Just thought I'd share yesterdays dinner with you...

Salmon, feta and pesto wrapped in filo pastry. herby roast potatoes, Mediterranean salad, the bread I mad the day before with olive oil to dip in to. LUSH!

Bake-a-thon

So after doing some errands and the exciting weekly food shop I decided to go on a baking spree, I made loads of amaretto flavored cupcakes and a focaccia. I've never made bread before, and as you can see it was a bit of a hit, it got half eaten before I could get a picture... defiantly making this recipe again!

Two crazy days!

So I went to meet Hannah for lunch before her job interview, and I was very impressed with the food at spoons! not bad at all! £3.99 fish & chips with a soft drink :D I also used today to test out wearing my new turban, I like it.

Vis has been having problems getting a replacement passport after loosing his, so at 7pm he calls me and asks 'fancy going to Liverpool?'
-apparently Liverpool was the only office in the WHOLE country with an appointment available to sort out a passport, and that only appointment was at 9am, so by 7.30 we book a night bus and are at Victoria bus station for 11.30pm. I've never been on a night bus before so I was quite nervous about being able to sleep, so I prepared and was armed with an amaretto and coke (and a sleeping pill). And I would have slept well throughout the journey if it was not for the crazy Jesus woman behind me, from 11.30pm till 6am she sang hymns and recited prayers!

urrr but that was nothing on the journey back! first of all as soon as the bus takes off from Liverpool a man has a poo in the loo, like seriously WHO HAS A SHIT ON A BUS?!
ANNNNDDDDD then throughout the journey back on the National express the guy behind me chain smokes! I hate smoke! I really hate ciggeretts! He starts by having 5 in the loo and later 3 while sat in his seat! I complained to the driver and his assistant and they were not bothered at all! like seriously? its illegal, its disgusting, and it made the journey home very uncomfortable!
I've made complaints to National Express, but they are still to get back to me, awful customer service!

Anyhoo, I'll blog about the actual day in liverpool once I've downloaded the photos, because I actually took a camera with me so they won't be bad quality photos from my black(shit)berry.

Chilled out Sunday

So after a day of job hunting I met my friend Hannah for a drink in Richmond by the river which was lush, then walked to Richmond park and inspected the newly built playground. YES we are still kids at heart, and we love it!

Arty Saturday

So I went to the tate yesterday! I loved it, so i've decided that for as long as I am freelancing two days a week, and I can afford to top up my oyster I will go to a museum or a gallery every week.

I collegue from work raved about a show called Little Sun so I went to see this first. I really like interactive shows, but what I liked even more are the beautiful graphic postcards, so I got one of each. I want to frame them and put them all on the wall I loved them that much! I made my own 'light drawing'  and I was given the code 12080415FMR so I could see my picture on the website, I cannot find it though :(

I then went to see the Damien Hirst exhibition. I've never really liked his work to be honest, I thought it was all hype, but I was pleasantly surprised. I actually enjoyed it.

I then went to see see the Edvard Munch exhibition. I really like his photographic self portraits, they were proberly one of the first 'myspace style' pictures (face in 3/4, camera held in one outststreached arm) which made me giggle. Now I know I can take photos of myself and say I am not being cheesy I am inspired by Mr Munch! Unfortionally there were no postcards of these photos, but I did get a few postcards of some of his paintings I really liked. 

As I was in possession of a members card, I decided to have a drink in the members area on the balcony, I have heard people go on about it's view of London, and I was lucky to arrive there in time for sunset, it was beautiful!

I then walked along the Millenium bridge to meet Vis for some pub grub, I don't think the day could have ended any nicer

Friday finally!

Wow this week has been slow, but at last its Friday. I'm really looking forward to this weekend. I've borrowed a member pass and going to the Tate modern tomorrow. I have not been to a 'art' gallery in ages and I've heard there is some brilliant shows on. I'm hoping it will be dead because of people avoiding London because of the Olympics. This is the reason why I'm warming up to the idea of the Olympics in London, central is dead. For example, I went shopping with Kaz on Sunday in covent garden, and NEVER had to que up for the changing rooms or the till, that has got to be kinda unheard-of. Fab.
Last night I dip-dyed my hair, I now have pink highlights that I have done myself. It worked quite well and I'm rather pleased with myself. I thought I'd wear something to work today that I can wear straight out with tonight. So I'm wearing a topshop white cross 'dress', black shiny leggings, my spiked Litas and my leather Jacket. My boyfriend, Vis, liked how I looked this morning and took a photo of it on my black(shit)berry. I cannot wait for the new iPhone to come out, I want one!


I've not got a lot to do in work today so I got what will feel like a long wait for the weekend to start at 6pm (When I leave the office). I know i shouldn't complain cos I'm getting paid, and I am very lucky to be a graduate in my position, but I want to be challenged, I want to actually work. I want the satisfaction of feeling like I've achieved something, oh well. I guess that is the plan for Sunday then. I MUST LOOK FOR MORE WORK

tutti frutti

At lunch time I decided to treat myself to a new Revlon lip butter in Tutti Frutti, I bought my first lip butter about a month ago in Raspberry Pie and I love it, I've used it soo much, its gorgeous. I wanted to get a lippy to match the Mac mineralize blush (in Solar Ray) I bought at the start of the month and the Blood orange Barry M Nail varnish I put on last night. Properly my most favorite lippy since Kate's Rimmel lippy in number 3. So I cant wait to wear some tutti frutty tomorrow (I'm wearing raspberry pie today). I've wanted an orange lippy for ages, I bought one from Sleek a while ago but I found it to be a bit to powerful and not easy to wear unless carefully matched with an outfit.


Also in other news I read in the guardian that timeout magazine is going to become free! And as we say 'the best things in life are free' I can't wait to get my hands on a copy. I really enjoy having a look on their website to see if there is anything is happening on a weekend, especially if I have a friend visiting me, I like to show them the best of London!
